Traveling Into The Spirit World

After you are guided through a past life, you are then led into the spirit world "between" lives. While the past-life experience is truly spectacular in itself, the goal of a shamanic regression is to allow you to see, feel and know what happens to you after you die and return to the spirit world.

Most people who have a shamanic regression go through many of the same events as a person having a near-death experience-without actually having to die, of course. After leaving your body from a past life, you will probably go through the tunnel and into the light; you will be met by your spirit guide and deceased loved ones in spirit; and after visiting various levels of healing and preparation, you will eventually travel to meet with your soul group-the group of souls with whom you are the closest, with whom you learn and grow in the spirit world, and with whom you share many of the same lifetimes.

Meeting the Council of Elders

After meeting your soul group, many people then meet with the Council of Elders, master-level spiritual beings.

Soul Retrieval

Part of the shamanic regression is the recapture of lost pieces of your soul that have become disassociated from the rest of you. Soul Retrieval is the recovery of parts of the person that she left or lost somewhere during a traumatic moment, or that were stolen or borrowed by somebody else. The objective is to make you more whole and more present.

The idea of Soul Retrieval originates in ancient shamanic practices. Native American shaman would do it in drumming ceremonies where he would travel off into the past or into alternate realities and find the part of the person that was missing and invite it to come back.

Instead of the shaman traveling to recover the lost parts, you will do the traveling, under my guidance. We will also focus on life after soul retrieval, how to create a healthier life after healing has taken place.

Preparing for Your Sessions or Classes

I recommend that you take a little time and prepare for the session by listing the names of people that are in your life on a sheet of paper, with room to write down additional information about them, and also list any questions you want answered during your session. By making a record of the answers you receive, you will have a valuable resource as your memory of the event fades.

If you are taking the class over the phone, I recommend that you have a digital or tape recorder near you, so that you can speak into during your regression, so that you will have the record to refer to a later time. A headset can help keep the microphone near your mouth. If you haven’t record your insights during the session, you will need to immediately afterwards make notes to help you remember what you have learned. Drawings frequently assist memory. It doesn’t have to be a work of art to provide you with a valuable memory tool.

My Personal History with Past Life and Life between Life Shamanic Regression

In the early ‘80’s I was able to fulfill a life long dream of studying Past Life Regression Therapy. I had always remembered pieces of my past lives, as a child and had several spontaneous memory recoveries over the years. Even though I was raised in a belief system that stated that this was the only life we lived, and when we died we went directly to Heaven, I knew that the experiences I had remembered were real, and they were not part of this lifetime. When I first heard about hypnosis, I was studying Psychology and Anthropology in college. It seemed like a fascinating subject, however, there was no time to pursue it in the academic construct. It was several years later that I began exploring past life therapy as a treatment model for dealing with psychological issues.

The first classes I took were very basic, and offered to the general public. As I continued to study, I began to take therapist-only classes, and explored my personal past lives, as well as the past lives of others. I was curious to see how this modality of treatment could help me with problems I had from a childhood of abusive and alcoholic parents. As I began to understand how I had repeated this pattern many times, I also began to think about how I could break these patterns, for this lifetime and any future life times.

Most of the teachers I worked with just shrugged and went on to the next question when I asked about life between lives, which seemed to me to be when these patterns began. My interest was engaged by the fact that no one seemed to be able to answer my questions. I began to research on my own.

I was attending a Virginia Satir / Psychodrama workshop when a discussion of soul contracts and family curses lead me to wonder if this was the answer to my life between lives questions.

That night, as I lay in bed, I had an experience that was to change the way I understood the world. I found myself returning to a previous life, not long before I had exited that life. I was dying of a fever, and everything seemed to be distorted and strange. I would experience being in the body, burning with fever, and then looking down on the body, watching it suffering. This went on for some time, when I suddenly knew that the body breathed no more. My consciousness remained, however, as I watched my grieving parents prepare the body for burial, and then a bright light appeared, which seemed to be a being, and told me to come with him. I found myself in a great hall, where I was greeted by many different friends and relatives, and then, I was in a place like a college or university, very cool and serene, and I was preparing with several others for our re-entry into this world. We made agreements and discussed the contracts that we had entered into, vowing to “do better” this next time. I found myself taken before a council of beings, and presenting a new life plan to them for my next life. We discussed several issues, and I made some minor changes in my plan.

When I awoke in the morning, this experience was as vivid as any memory, and so it remains until today. I understood for the first time why I had chosen these parents, and why I had chosen the experiences that had occurred. I felt as though a great weight had been lifted from my heart. Over the next few weeks, I would return again and again to this place of quiet serenity, to better understand what tasks I had taken on in this lifetime. I began to understand how this life between life experience could allow me to change the way I was living my life, and to better accept the difficulties that I now knew I had arranged, in order to grow and develop as a person.

I began to develop a methodology for others to experience these periods of their history. About this time, I encountered the work of Dr. Michael Newton, the premiere researcher and therapist in the life between lives hypnotherapy. Apparently, I wasn’t the only one who was interested in the subject, and his books went on to sell hundreds of thousands. I recommend his books, Journey of the Soul and Destiny of the Soul for anyone who is interested in exploring these subjects.

However, I wasn’t sure that I liked his methodology. Coming from my shamanistic background, his technique seemed extremely directive, almost like he was leading the subject towards certain forgone conclusions. I began to explore an alternative methodology, which I began to call shamanic regression.

Shamanic regression, as opposed to hypnotherapy based past life regression or life between lives regression, was much more open-ended. There was more room for exploring the Spirit world, and the possibility of encountering beings that were not in the Judeo-Christian hierarchy of beings. Animals, both totem and power, played a much larger role in shamanic regression, as well as various Gods and Goddesses.

I quietly worked on this project, using friends and family as guinea pigs, until I was sure that I knew what I was doing, and I began to get the results that I had personally experienced. I began to notice dramatic shifts in people’s understanding of why they were here on this planet, and what they had come here to do. My son, who had spent most of his early school years avoiding class, suddenly began to buckle down and got accepted at medical school, something I would never have believed when he was sixteen would ever happen.

After many years of working on this project, learning how to understand the complexity of exploring life between lives, I decided that it was time to begin to offer this to others. At first, I thought that it would only be possible to teach this class in person, however after teaching several other classes over the phone and internet, I began to see how I could create a class that would allow a wide range of people around the world to experience this life affirming experience of exploring their lives between lives. It took me a while to figure out how to do this, since I knew that I would need a considerable amount of time, and would need to take the students to a deeper level of trance than was normally achieved in a teleclass.

I finally came up with a solution, and planned the class for two consecutive days, each class three hours long. This would allow me to maintain the depth of trance needed for the students to have the optimum experience, without unduly upsetting their personal schedules. The addition of a personal session, at least one hour long, would allow me to “check-in” with the student on a one on one basis, sorting out any issues or questions that might arise during the class or the follow-on session.

I am very pleased to announce that I will be offering these classes as a part of my regular repertoire of classes. I am looking forward to helping you develop a greater understanding of your personal mission here on earth, as well as a greater acceptance of the issues you have had to deal with this time around.

We will also explore some past lives, as part of the class. Although this will not be the main focus, it is necessary to develop an understanding of how these contracts have evolved, and what you can do about it now. We will also look at renegotiating contracts and curses that are outdated, and have served their purposes, as well as how to delete karmic connections that are no longer in your best interest.
